Dato’ Jaafar Indot
(2009 – 2014)
A visionary leader and governance advocate, Dato’ Jaafar Indot was one of the key figures behind the formation of MACD. With a pioneering career that saw him become Shell’s first Malay Managing Director, Dato’ Jaafar brought deep corporate experience and unwavering values to MACD. He served as a guiding force for the organisation during its early years, championing accountability, whistleblower protection, and integrity in the boardroom.
Dato’ Jaafar passed away in 2020, but his contributions continue to echo in the standards and direction of MACD today.
“He believed that directors must act with conscience and courage, and he lived by those words.”
