About Lee Kok Wai
Lee Kok Wai, Audit Partner (Audit and Assurance) of Crowe Horwath, started his accountancy career with an international accounting firm in 1988 as an articled student undertaking the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants examinations. Kok Wai rose through the ranks until his last position as an Audit Principal before leaving in 2004 to join Crowe Horwath, Kuala Lumpur Office.
During the period from 1988 until the time he left, he was directly responsible for the audits of major public listed companies, multinationals and insurance companies. In addition, he also led reporting accountants’ engagements on initial public offerings and fund raising exercises. He was seconded to Boston for one year to specialise in the audits of insurance companies.
Kok Wai joined Crowe Horwath in 2004 and currently heads the Audit and Assurance department as a Partner. He is directly responsible for the audits of the firm’s major clients, which include public listed companies, multinationals and large SMEs.
Kok Wai has conducted public speaking assignments on Financial Reporting Standards and participated in the review of financial statements issued by companies listed on Bursa Malaysia, organised by the MIA to assess financial statements compliance with Financial Reporting Standards. In addition, he also leads initial public offering engagements for the flotation of companies on the Main and ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia.
He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), a registered partner with the Audit Oversight Board, and a member of the Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
